ORIGIN
Support For Women
Endita Kiarie felt a need for Kenyan women living in Illinois to come together to connect, share ideas, support, and socialize with one another. As a woman who was born and raised in Kenya, living and navigating through the challenges in the United States, it was her dream to establish a formal organization for the Kenyan women who have made Illinois their home. After living in Chicago for many years and working as a geriatric social worker, she made that dream come true by informally forming the Kenyan Women’s Support Group with the help of friends and the Kenyan community in March 2011. The Group was registered as a 501 c (3) in February 2013.
